Frequently asked questions.
What should I wear to my Sports Therapy appointment?
Wear clothes that you're able to comfortably move in.
Movement is medicine. We’ll be getting straight to it, whether its your initial appointment or a follow-up, you’ll need to be able to move.
Typical gym attire such as shorts and a T-shirt with your usual running or workout trainers would be perfect. Consider which body part is being assessed or treated, we're probably going to want to take a look so having easy access would be great.
What should I wear to my Sports Massage appointment?
Your sports massage will take place within the privacy of the clinic. The hands-on nature of a sports massage will require access to the body part being treated. If we're just treating your legs or upper body you won’t be asked to undress any more than necessary.
If you're a bra wearer, its recommended to wear one with a clasp that can be undone and re-done when access to the upper back is needed. There are no judgements in our clinic, wear what you're comfortable in and we'll provide as many blankets and towels necessary to keep you warm and conserve your dignity.
I'm not an athlete or don’t do any sport, can I still see a Sports Therapist?
You certainly can! A sports therapist is highly trained and experienced in working with muscles, bones and joints. The principles of tissue healing and rehabilitation can be applied regardless of whether your physical activity goal is to be able to walk your dog or to compete in a triathlon.
Will my insurance cover any of your services?
Some health insurance plans will cover all or a portion of the cost of sports injury rehabilitation (or even sports massage, lucky you!).
